How Time Flies…

The picture of the kids is when Samuel was about 7 years old and Ysabel was very close to 1 years old.  They both still love to lick the bowl, especially if it’s whipping cream. Today Samuel is 14 years old and in August becomes a Freshman in High School.  Ysabel is 7 years old and will move on to 2nd grade next school year. Where has the time gone?  We would appreciate your prayers over us as we raise a teenager and an “almost” teenager (that’s what she thinks). Our current challenge is helping our son “be strong and courageous” in his faith with God.  He’s facing big time decisions in regards to what is right and what is wrong. Teenage years include lots of peer pressure and worldly pressures to be “cool” or part of the  “in crowd.”  Yet, he genuinely loves Jesus and wants to serve God. We want him to grow in his faith and have that experience with God that will help carry him through life, even if it means he stands alone from peers but together with Jesus.  He has a dream to someday serve on the Logos Hope ship out of high school.  Pray that God will keep this vision on fire!  (The Logos Hope is a ship that travels around the world bringing Christian literature and compassion projects to several different countries.) Please keep praying for our Car Fund Project.  We have just cleared the 50% goal.  We are raising funds to purchase a “newer” used car.  We would like to purchase a newer model of a car that will last us for 10 years (hence, a Japanese model).  For this goal, we need to raise an additional US$5,000.  And we are currently in negotiation with some friends about purchasing their 2011 Honda CRV.
